The Institute provides leadership development of persons who have been identified as having the potential to become future public leaders. No other program offers such a comprehensive curriculum in strategic political leadership development. The institute keep about 45-50 Fellows in each batch for different training programme. Selection is on the basis of leadership potential and commitment of politics and no Discrimination is done by Institute on the basis of race, sex, Language, Cast, Region, Religion or ideology.

After this training you can contest election for the post of councilor, MLA or MP. You will have more chances to join a political party then those who are untrained. If you are already the member of any political party then this training will help you to be a leader then a simple karyakarta. After this training you will have more chances to get promotion in your party. The training will help you to write your own speech, give you confidence to speak in public. You can also do your duties easily when appointed in a boards or commissions as member or its head both the state and Central levels. You can also use your IPL experience regularly while working in political campaigns .Institute also conduct its alumni meet every month so that new and old students can meet with each other. The right of invitation in monthly meet is reserve to the Director Sir.
